"Silence, that is how the concert began; with that creative silence of the artist. Before the piano keys, Pastrana immersed himself by instants in a meditation, establishing an invisible link, as a medium talking to the Afterlife. All of a sudden the piano started to sing. Some random notes and the argumentative structure started to be drawn slowly. The Piano rose as a soul that became alive. An organized structure where the music flew in a coherent logic. Throughout the concert other improvisations appeared and the artist’s imagination took us to see images and to experience contrasting sensations as a parade of stories that color the thoughts and communicate emotions, each of them designed with mastery. In the first improvisation, the solvency of this young artist was amazing: the way he managed his instrument and his musical language. Since the music is a language with its own orthography and syntax, we can state the improvisation allowed the pianist to show an advanced knowledge over its different components: rhythm, melody, harmony, style and expression.  " Angelica Daza Enciso
